Ryan to Undergo Rehabilitation

American boxer Ryan Garcia (24-1, 20 KOs) has apologized for his racist remarks on social media and announced that he is battling drug addiction.

"I take full responsibility for my words. I was misunderstood, and I have a lot of injuries. The last few months have been tough, as everyone can see, but I'm sorry. I'm struggling with drug addiction, and it's been hard to handle everything.

I really love black people, no joke, so it makes me really sad that I hurt my black family and friends. It's terrible, but all I can do is get better and stop using stupid words and letting some people around me incite me.

Sorry to everyone I offended. I still insist on stopping black-on-black crime. And I hate pedophiles, so that's something I'll always stand against. By the way, I'm going to rehab," Garcia wrote on Twitter.

Recently, Mauricio Sulaiman, President of the World Boxing Council (WBC), announced Garcia's suspension from any WBC activities. This came in response to a series of tweets where Garcia made offensive comments towards black people and Muslims.

Earlier, Ryan announced his retirement from boxing. Subsequently, Garcia was suspended from boxing for 1 year, fined $1.1 million, and his victory over Devin Haney was declared a no contest.
