American light welterweight boxer (up to 140 lbs) Ryan Garcia (24-1, 20 KOs) is confident that his fight against WBC champion Devin Haney (31-0, 15 KOs) will easily sell over a million pay-per-view transmissions.
"I think we'll sell 1.5 million PPVs. And if we push it, we could hit 2 million," Garcia stated.
The bout between Ryan and Devin is scheduled for April 20th in New York, with the official broadcaster being the streaming platform DAZN.
Garcia has ignited so much interest during the fight's promotion that some boxers and officials doubt whether he should be allowed to fight. Ryan arrived at the press conference on a horse and brought a royal throne with him. Then he claimed he had been abducted by secret societies that forced him to witness murders and child rapes. Consequently, even the WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman expressed that he would like the appropriate commission to check the mental state of the boxer.
