American Welterweight Ryan Garcia spoke about a potential fight against WBC Lightweight Champion Shakur Stevenson.
“Me and Shakur? I’d take that fight. I want it, because his punches won’t hurt. Same as with Devin Haney.
I’ll just make sure Shakur feels every punch I land. He won’t like being in the ring with me. He’ll run, run, and run again. I’ll have to chase and hunt him down. And what do the judges want to see? I just feel like right now there’s a certain preference for those who run,” said Garcia.
In May, Ryan Garcia (24-2, 20 KOs) lost to Rolando Romero by unanimous decision, having been knocked down in the second round.
On July 12, Shakur Stevenson (24-0, 11 KOs) defeated William Zepeda by unanimous decision to retain his world title.
