American boxer Ryan Garcia (23-1, 19 KOs) held his first press conference ahead of his bout with Oscar Duarte (26-1-1, 21 KOs). Their match is scheduled for December 2nd at the Toyota Center arena in Houston, USA.
Ryan stated that he aims to contend for a title in a new weight class, but first, he wants to secure victory against his upcoming opponent:
"I know this will be a terrific bout. Oscar is a strong opponent. I've rested after my last fight, feel good, and I feel stronger. My initial goal is to defeat Oscar, and then I'll set my sights on the title in the super lightweight division," Ryan said.
In his last bout in the spring of 2023, Ryan Garcia suffered his first defeat when Gervonta Davis knocked him out in the seventh round. Duarte has remained unbeaten since 2019, having defeated all 11 of his opponents prematurely during that time.
