According to insider Dan Rafael, the results of Ryan Garcia's (25-1, 20 KOs) B sample were returned on Thursday, one day after being opened. They were taken by VADA, just like the A sample, a day before and after the fight with WBC junior welterweight champion (up to 63.5 kg) Devin Haney (31-1, 15 KOs).
Rafael reports that he has the laboratory reports and samples of the B test. As expected, they match the A sample – both tests returned positive for the PED Ostarine.
To recap, after the fight against Devin Haney, Garcia failed doping tests that showed the presence of the banned substance Ostarine in his system. There were also suspicions of the presence of PED 19-norandrosterone. It was later revealed that Garcia's sample did not contain PED 19-norandrosterone.
Ryan defeated Haney by split decision, becoming the first to defeat Devin in the professional ranks. Haney's team is demanding the result be overturned due to Garcia's positive doping tests.
