Ruiz refused to hold a fight with Hrgovic

Andy Ruiz, a former super heavyweight world champion, declined the opportunity to face Croatian fighter Filip Hrgovic in a highly anticipated bout for the interim super heavyweight championship title as sanctioned by the IBF.

Ruiz's camp made the decision known before the bidding process even began, effectively shutting down any potential negotiations.

It's worth noting that the current IBF super heavyweight titleholder is Oleksandr Usyk. The IBF had previously rescinded their order for Usyk to defend his title against Hrgovic, despite Hrgovic's status as the mandatory contender after defeating China's Zhang Zhilei last August.

In his most recent fight, Ruiz showcased his skills by defeating Luis Ortiz in a unanimous decision victory, scoring three knockdowns in the process. Following the bout, Ruiz boldly called out Deontay Wilder for a showdown in the ring, which is set to take place this coming spring.
