WBA welterweight champion Rolando Romero has shared his thoughts on a potential fight with WBO titleholder in the same division Devin Haney.

“Devin Haney didn’t call me out. Who called me out? Why didn’t they call me out after my fight with Ryan? Why didn’t they do it after the fight with Norman? Why did they wait a few days until they left Saudi Arabia? I don’t know. It seems strange to me.

But I think Devin should get a rematch with Ryan, because they asked me to help promote that rematch. And I helped him. Didn’t I?

I think Devin should get the rematch, and Ryan should do all of us a favor and just give Devin that rematch. I don't want to get sued for two years after I knock him out. Don’t waste my time,” Romero said.

Rolando Romero (17-2, 13 KOs) last fought in May against Ryan Garcia and won by unanimous decision. That fight was planned for Garcia as a tune-up bout before a rematch with Haney, but due to Ryan’s defeat it never took place.

In November, Devin Haney (33-0, 15 KOs) defeated Brian Norman by unanimous decision and captured the WBO welterweight title.
