Romero: "I Want to Congratulate Pitbull on a Great Fight"

Former champion Rolando Romero (15-2, 13 KOs) has commented for the first time on his defeat against WBA super lightweight champion Isaac Cruz (26-2-1, 18 KOs).

"I want to congratulate Pitbull on a great fight and achieving his dream of becoming a world champion. I stepped into the ring ready to show the world my heart and skills, and I felt I would demonstrate that on Saturday night. I was never down, let alone out, and the referee had to save me from myself because I am fearless. I've received so much love and support from many different places, and it has made a huge difference in my ability to cope and accept this defeat. I promise to come back better and stronger than ever to further prove to myself and the skeptics that I belong at the highest level in the sport with the best of them," wrote Romero.

On the night of March 31st in the USA, Isaac Cruz won by technical knockout in the 8th round against Rolando Romero in the fight for the WBA super lightweight title.
