Jesse Rodriguez’s Trainer: “See You Soon, Inoue”

Robert Garcia, the trainer for WBC, WBA, and WBO super flyweight champion Jesse "Bam" Rodriguez, has reacted to the possibility of a showdown with undisputed super bantamweight champion Naoya Inoue.

“We will see him soon,” Garcia declared.

Both boxers have previously expressed a willingness to face one another. However, weight remains the primary hurdle: Jesse currently competes two divisions below Inoue. The Japanese star has stated he is open to the matchup if Rodriguez moves up in weight.

At the end of 2025, Jesse was in negotiations to face Junto Nakatani, but the latter moved up to Inoue's division. Nakatani is now expected to be the next opponent for the undisputed champion.

Jesse Rodriguez is currently 25 years old, while Naoya Inoue is 32.
