IBF super lightweight champion Richardson Hitchins (19-0, 7 KOs) will make the first defense of his world title on June 21 in New York City, according to his promoter Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Boxing.
Hearn revealed that former undisputed lightweight champion George Kambosos (22-3, 10 KOs) is among the priority opponents being considered for the bout.
Hitchins captured the IBF belt in December 2024, earning a split decision victory over Liam Paro.
Kambosos recently moved up to the super lightweight division, where he scored a unanimous decision win over Jake Wyllie on March 22. Following the victory, the Australian immediately called out Hitchins for a title fight.
A showdown between the two could bring fireworks to the summer schedule and provide Hitchins with a high-profile test against a proven former champion.
