Eddy Reynoso Responds to Another Fighter’s Positive Test

Mexican trainer Eddy Reynoso explained what he plans to do now that yet another one of his fighters has run into doping trouble. Most recently the culprit was Francisco Rodriguez, whose career Reynoso has been helping to guide.

“From now on I’ll work only with a team I can control one hundred percent. I used to let boxers who came to my gym keep their own support staff, regardless of what my training program required.

So what will I do from here on out? Work one hundred percent with a team I can oversee and direct. Not because those other fighters had bad teams, but because I need total control over the boxers I train,” Reynoso said.

Previously, positive tests also hit Saúl Álvarez, Óscar Valdez, Julio César Martínez, and Jaime Munguía—all of whom were training under Reynoso at the time.
