Reynoso Mocks Everyone Who Thinks Canelo Is Avoiding Benavidez

Mexican coach and manager of Saúl Álvarez (60-2-2, 39 KOs), Eddy Reynoso, responded to accusations of his athlete avoiding 27-year-old American David Benavidez (28-0, 24 KOs) and explained why Canelo has not yet faced him.

"I think it's in very poor taste that they say Canelo is afraid of Benavidez.

I don't know how they dare to classify a fighter as a coward when he has fearlessly faced Floyd Mayweather, faced Miguel Cotto, faced the formidable Gennady Golovkin at a time when he was knocking out half the world. Who moved up to light heavyweight, risking everything, to meet Dmitry Bivol.

In reality, just no major promoter has offered us a fight against Benavidez," Reynoso stated.

It's worth noting that the official date for Canelo's next fight is May 4th. Álvarez has stated that his next opponent will definitely not be the Mexican. However, RVS offered Saúl 35 million for a fight against the Mexican Jaime Munguia.
