Renowned mandatory contender for Devin Haney's title revealed
Devin Haney is the new WBC champion in the first super lightweight division (up to 63.5 kg). While negotiations with Gervonta Davis about the terms of their potential bout are ongoing, the mandatory contender for Devin's title has been revealed:
On December 16, Spanish boxer Sandor Martin had his 45th professional match, facing Belgian Mohamed El Marcouchi. In the second round, Martin scored the first knockdown, and after a second knockdown in the fourth round, Marcouchi did not rise from the canvas. TKO in Round 4.
Martin retains his status as the mandatory contender for the WBC belt, making him the top candidate for a bout against Devin Haney.
