Ramirez Earns Less for Historic Victory

According to information from American insider Dan Rafael, Mexican boxer Gilberto Ramirez (46-1, 30 KOs) earned less than Arsen Gulamirian (27-1, 19 KOs) for their championship bout that took place on the night of March 31 in the USA.

Gulamirian's purse amounted to $625,000, while Ramirez received a guaranteed purse of $400,000.

In the fight for the WBA cruiserweight title (up to 90.7 kg), which Gulamirian had held since 2018, the decision of the judges favored Ramirez. Gilberto became the first Mexican cruiserweight champion and the heaviest champion in history born in Mexico.
