British promoter Frank Warren has stated that the loss suffered by IBF Champion Daniel Dubois (21-2, 20 KOs) in his bout against Oleksandr Usyk was beneficial for his fighter and does not regret the outcome.
"I'm no longer disappointed; it's in the past. But I think that fight made Dubois who he is today. At that moment, of course, I was upset with what the referee did. And to some extent, I was disappointed with Daniel in that fight. It seemed he lost interest in the match and was very downcast when, in his opinion, the referee showed bias.
When things don't go your way, you grit your teeth and keep going. That's what Dubois did in his last two fights. He gritted his teeth and showed what he's made of," - Warren said.
Dubois and Usyk met in the summer of 2023, where the Ukrainian won by stoppage in the 9th round. Since that fight, Daniel has won two bouts by knockout, and on September 21, he will face Anthony Joshua.
