Ukrainian Pro with Big Potential – Usyk Names the Boxer to Watch

Ukrainian heavyweight champion across WBA, WBC, WBO, and IBO (over 90.7 kg), Oleksandr Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs), has shared which Ukrainian boxers have the potential to make significant strides in the professional arena.

"Who from Ukrainian boxers can stand out in the professional ranks? I believe that could be Danyil Lapin. He’s currently boxing in the 81 kg division. He has two belts – the WBA Intercontinental and, if I’m not mistaken, the IBF Intercontinental as well. He’s a young guy. We’ll see who else from Ukraine is eager to succeed in the pro scene.

I'm not part of the Ukrainian boxing scene per se. I am an independent unit that represents Ukraine as a professional boxer. But I’m my own unit. This is my job, and this is how I make a living. However, I am interested in working with boxing, developing it because I came from there and I understand how everything works, and what kind of support is needed," Usyk said.

The 27-year-old Ready To Fight ambassador Daniel Lapin currently holds a perfect record of 10 wins in 10 fights, 4 of which were knockouts. His last fight was on May 18, on the undercard of Usyk vs. Fury, where he knocked out Octaviu Pudivitra (9-2, 4 KOs) in the first round.
