Prograis Has Chances for a Fight Against Matias

Eddie Hearn, the head of the promotional company Matchroom Boxing, shared plans regarding his company's athlete, former world champion Regis Prograis (29-2, 24 KOs). It's quite possible that if he wins his next match, the American might again have a chance to fight for a title.

"Prograis is waiting for a fight. He will be fighting around August. I would really like to make a fight with Dalton Smith. Maybe he will go to the UK.

He would like to fight in the USA, but if the money is right – he will consider it. Also, there's the winner of the Subriel Matias – Liam Paro pair.

There is interest in both directions. We are considering options for a fight in America or England. It's a big leap for Smith – a major step up. But we'll see," said Hearn.

In his last match, Prograis lost by decision to Devin Haney for the WBC super lightweight title (up to 140 lbs). Dalton Smith in 2024 defeated Jose Zepeda by knockout in the 5th round, while Subriel Matias in an interview promised to send Prograis to the hospital after their fight. The fight between Matias and Paro is set to take place in June in Puerto Rico.
