Price on Fury vs. Joshua: "Maybe It's a Personal Desire to Fight"

Former British heavyweight boxer (over 90.7 kg) David Price shared his thoughts on the potential fight between Tyson Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs) and Anthony Joshua (28-3, 25 KOs).

«Of course, I would like to see this fight happen. Ultimately, it will depend on the circumstances with Tyson Fury. Will he want to continue if he loses to Usyk, and come back to negotiations with Joshua on equal terms or even as the second number at that point?

But money rules everything, doesn't it? They can have as much money in the bank as they want, but there is still the temptation to return for a bit more. Maybe it's just a personal desire to fight Joshua. I know Joshua wants this fight. It's a shame it hasn't happened yet.

If the fight happens, I've always been confident it would be a clear victory for Fury. But Joshua has found his aura, his form, and his belief. I would probably rate the chances as 60-40 in favor of Fury,» said Price.

Anthony Joshua's next fight will be against IBF heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois (21-2, 20 KOs) on September 21 at Wembley Stadium in London, UK.

On December 21 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Tyson Fury will face WBA, WBC, WBO, and IBO heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs) in a rematch.

David Price announced his retirement in October 2021, although his last fight was in the autumn of 2019 against Derek Chisora (35-13, 23 KOs), where he lost by technical knockout in the 4th round. Throughout his professional career, Price achieved 25 wins, 20 by knockout, and suffered 7 losses. In 2008, he won a bronze medal at the Beijing Olympics in China.
