Sparring Secrets: Inside Usyk's Camp for the Fury Clash!

At the press conference, Ukrainian heavyweight champ Oleksandr Usyk, alongside Egis Klimas, Oleksandr Krassyuk, and Ready to Fight's head honcho Sergiy Lapin, fielded questions from the press about the upcoming bout with Tyson Fury. They discussed their take on the fight's rescheduling, tweaks in their training regime, and the introduction of new sparring partners for the upcoming training camp.

Does Oleksandr Usyk hold any grudges against Tyson Fury for delaying the fight?

"I've sacrificed a ton. I skipped celebrating holidays, missed my kids' birthdays while grinding away in training, and wasn't by my wife's side for our newest arrival. I was pacing the corridor, not intruding, just close enough to hear my baby girl's first cries.

I'm not here to point fingers. It's the fight game. These things happen. We've got to tackle it with utmost seriousness because facing Tyson Fury is no small feat. We're scrutinizing every minor detail to continue our prep and enter the ring ready.

Casting blame for slip-ups is a sign of weakness. I'm well aware of the situation. And if anyone's trying to play games, they're playing by my rules."

When will Usyk get back to training?

"First things first, I'm yearning to see my daughter, give her a big hug. Show my gratitude to my wife. Spend some time in prayer. Chill at home for a couple of days. Then, it's back to the gym for me. I've got a fiery battle waiting."

Has Oleksandr caught the clip of Fury's sparring injury?

"Yeah, I've seen the footage, but it's not on my mind.

We've already covered the safety gear - headgear, hefty gloves, and greasing up the gloves with Vaseline to reduce injuries. It boils down to how serious you are about your craft."

On the Mission of Ready to Fight

"Truth be told, I've always dreamed of doing this - lending a hand. And now, by God's grace, we've assembled an ace team, driving forward this mission to support those in need within the boxing community.

It's incredibly fulfilling, and I thank God for it daily."

Sergey Lapin on Camp Rounds and New Sparring Partners

"Oleksandr's clocked about 250 rounds of sparring. We've had roughly 20 partners in the ring mirroring our adversary's style. And now, we've got 15 new requests for sparring sessions for the next camp.

Things have become way more streamlined and convenient. Gone are the days of reaching out through a friend's neighbor or your sister's brother searching for a sparring partner. With Ready to Fight, it's straightforward - a few clicks and you've found your match".
