"Pray that his father stops the fight." The first comments from Garcia and Haney about the upcoming bout

The match between WBC lightweight champion Devin Haney (31-0, 15 KOs) and Ryan Garcia (24-1, 20 KOs) has been officially confirmed. It will take place on April 20 in Las Vegas. In his initial comment after the fight announcement, Haney teased the final chapter of their rivalry:

"MashaAllah. This will be settled once and for all. April 20, Haney – Garcia. Insha'Allah," said Haney.

Their rivalry stands at 3:3, with all previous matches taking place in amateur boxing. Garcia was more expressive in his statement:

"On April 20, Garcia – Haney. This fight means everything to me. I ask you, friends, pray for Devin and his health. Pray that his father stops this fight. He will need to be pulled out of the match if it is not stopped at the right time. Glory to the Lord Jesus Christ. His name is above all. Forever and ever, amen," said Garcia.

In the previous bout, Ryan won prematurely against Oscar Duarte, while Haney became the champion by defeating Regis Prograis by judges' decision.
