Potential Opponent for Terence Crawford Revealed

According to sources from BoxingScene, the next opponent for WBA, WBC, and WBO welterweight champion Terence Crawford (40-0, 31 KOs) could be WBA super welterweight champion from Uzbekistan, Israil Madrimov (9-0-1, 7 KOs).

Preliminary discussions for this fight have already taken place, with a tentative date set for August 3rd in Los Angeles, USA.

This event appears to be the first that Turki Al-Sheikh will organize in the USA, with Eddie Hearn's Matchroom Boxing handling the promotion. Madrimov claimed the WBA title on March 8th at a tournament in Saudi Arabia, winning by TKO in the 5th round against Magomed Kurbanov. Crawford has not fought since the summer of 2023, when he defeated Errol Spence Jr. by knockout, becoming an undisputed world champion for the second time in his career.
