Former American IBF super middleweight champion Caleb Plant (22-2, 13 KOs) has announced his next opponent.

Plant will face unbeaten compatriot Trevor McCumby (28-0, 21 KOs) on August 17th in Orlando, USA. This bout will headline the first Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) show on Amazon Prime, broadcasted via PPV.

Scuffle with Canelo: Caleb made headlines by getting into a scuffle with undisputed super middleweight champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (61-2-2, 39 KOs) at the press conference before their fight in November 2021. Their staredown turned into an argument, leading to Canelo shoving Plant, resulting in a cut under Caleb’s eye, which didn't prevent the fight from taking place.

"Burying" his opponent after a knockout: After his loss to Canelo, Caleb made a triumphant return in October 2022, knocking out Anthony Dirrell (34-3-2, 25 KOs). Plant entered the ring wearing a shirt that read "You don’t know me well enough to hate me." After Dirrell hit the canvas, Caleb mimed digging a grave for his opponent. When the result was announced, Plant wore a shirt with a different message: "But now you do."
