PFL Co-Founder Says Ngannou and Wilder Could Box in a Mixed Format

PFL MMA promotion co-founder Donn Davis says that Francis Ngannou and Deontay Wilder could fight in 2025, discussing potential rules for the bout.

"This year, Ngannou will have two fights – one in MMA and one in boxing. In what order? I don’t know yet. Who will his opponents be? We’re considering options.

We support Francis, and that’s why he’s with PFL. I think, over time, other stars will join PFL.

We’ve talked about a fight with Wilder, and Francis himself has mentioned it. A mixed format, alternating rounds or simply excluding one of the MMA rule aspects.

I think Deontay is especially an interesting option, but we need the fans to understand this and for it to be a legitimate sport," said Davis.

Ngannou has two boxing bouts and two losses – a decision loss to Tyson Fury and a knockout loss to Anthony Joshua. Deontay Wilder has lost 4 of his last 5 fights.
