Renowned American boxing analyst and former world champion Paul Malignaggi shared his thoughts on the upcoming fight for the undisputed lightweight championship between titleholder Devin Haney (29-0, 15 KO) and Ukrainian Vasyl Lomachenko (17-2, 11 KO).
"Haney shouldn’t have gotten the Kambosos fight. It was Lomachenko’s fight, and then the war happened."
"Kambosos had a good night against Teofimo Lopez, but George was a pretty average fighter before the Teofimo fight and pretty average after the Lopez fight."
"If you look at the work of Kambosos with the body, then it was unconvincing, and Lomachenko would probably pulverize him. So Haney is the undisputed champion only because Lomachenko went to war," Malignaggi stated.
