Paro and Papot to Meet in IBF Welterweight Eliminator

Former IBF Super Lightweight World Champion Liam Paro (26-1, 16 KOs) will face David Papot (30-0-1, 5 KOs), reports Bad Left Hook.

The 29-year-old Australian and the 34-year-old Frenchman will meet on September 18 in Brisbane, Australia in an eliminator for the IBF Welterweight World Title. That belt will be contested on September 13 between Lewis Crocker and Paddy Donovan.

Paro previously declined to participate in an IBF Super Lightweight title eliminator and moved up to the welterweight division. In June, he scored a stoppage win over Jonathan Navarro via RTD in round five after Navarro’s corner halted the fight.

Papot last fought in November 2024, when he knocked out Josh Wagner in the seventh round.
