Parker: «All of Usyk's Achievements Are Truly Impressive»

The WBO interim heavyweight champion (over 90.7 kg), Joseph Parker (35-3, 23 KOs), shared his thoughts on the bout for the undisputed heavyweight championship between Oleksandr Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs) and Tyson Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs).

«Usyk's performance was magnificent. In fact, both of them were magnificent. They gave it their all. Usyk won, but I think it was a very close fight. Both guys had their moments in this bout. It was a pleasure to watch the fight and be part of this contest for the undisputed world championship.

I’m always on Team Fury, but the fight was close. It could have ended in a draw or in Tyson’s favor, but it ended with Usyk's victory. Congratulations to Usyk. He’s a very good fighter. All his achievements in boxing are truly impressive,» said Parker.

The fight between Usyk and Fury went the full 12 rounds and ended with the Ukrainian winning by split decision. Oleksandr Usyk is the first undisputed heavyweight champion since November 13, 1999, when Lennox Lewis defeated Evander Holyfield in a rematch.
