Sean Gibbons, the cornerman in the life of boxing legend Manny Pacquiao, has let slip the hit list for the Filipino legend this year:
"I think a showdown with Banchamek could be just the jab we need to set up a real slobber knocker in June or July. We're talking big rings - Saudi Arabia, the US, or England. This is Manny's final round before he hangs up his gloves for the political arena.
The dream match? Pacquiao squaring off against McGregor. That scrap would've been a no-contest a decade back. But times change. Manny's got more rings on the tree, and Conor? He's sharpened his punches, showing some real flash against Mayweather. This bout would be fireworks.
Seems like everyone's itching for a Pacquiao-Mayweather rematch. Well, everyone but Mayweather. Floyd got the upper hand back then, but now? Manny's light years ahead - Floyd's punches aren't what they used to be.
Manny's got his eyes on contenders like Gervonta Davis or Kell Brook. Him and Gervonta? That's a match made in boxing heaven - a real barn burner. But making it happen? That's a tougher fight," Gibbons muses.
Pacquiao's last walk to the ring was back in August 2021, facing a defeat against Jordenis Ugas. Since then, he's been dancing in exhibition bouts. The word on the street is, come April 20, Manny's stepping into the ring with kickboxer and Muay Thai champ Buakaw Banchamek.
