Details have emerged about the long-rumored comeback of 46-year-old boxing icon Manny Pacquiao (62–8–2, 39 KOs), who will face WBC welterweight champion Mario Barrios (29–2–1, 18 KOs) on July 19 in Las Vegas, according to ESPN.
The bout will mark Pacquiao’s return to the ring after nearly three years. His last appearance was in August 2021, when he lost a unanimous decision to Yordenis Ugas of Cuba.
The matchup had been previously teased by WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman, who confirmed negotiations between the fighters.
Barrios was elevated to full champion status after Terence Crawford vacated the belt to move up in weight. He defended his title in November against Abel Ramos, though the bout ended in a draw.
