Sean Gibbons, adviser to eight-division former world champion Manny Pacquiao (62-8-2, 39 KOs), shared his thoughts on a possible second meeting with Floyd Mayweather.
“In life, anything is possible. Boxing’s in a strange place right now, and Floyd might decide this is the moment—especially with a WBC belt on the line. It makes sense and it’s lucrative, and if you’re Floyd, that’s hard to turn down.
If Pacquiao pulls it off—winning titles in four different decades—it would be unbelievable. Manny still trains in 2025 exactly like he did in 1995. He hasn’t changed. It’s all built on hard work.
There are no secrets, no futuristic machines—everything’s been the same for thirty years. It’s another round of Pac-Man Mania, where everyone wants to be around Manny Pacquiao. Let’s hope Floyd Mayweather wants to be, too,” Gibbons said.
Pacquiao and Mayweather first met in May 2015, with Floyd winning by unanimous decision.
On 19 July, the 46-year-old Pacquiao returns to the ring for the WBC Welterweight belt against Mario Barrios.
