Oscar De La Hoya: "Golden Boy Raised All the Top PBC Fighters"

Founder and head of Golden Boy Promotions, Oscar De La Hoya, ridiculed the recent failures of Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) following Tim Tszyu's (24-2, 17 KOs) loss. De La Hoya also recalled the beginning of his conflict with the competing company.

"Last weekend, Tim Tszyu was brutally knocked out in the third round by a relatively unknown opponent. I have nothing but respect for Tim Tszyu; I actually like him very much. But this is yet another example of the terrible fight organization by PBC.

Let's remember the past. About ten years ago, there were some traitors, real scoundrels, in my office. My company, Golden Boy Promotions, raised all the top fighters of PBC, including Errol Spence, Deontay Wilder, the Charlo brothers, Danny Garcia, Abner Mares, Leo Santa Cruz, and many others.

But these unfaithful scoundrels in my office waited for my fighters' contracts to end and lured them to the new promotional company PBC. They attracted hundreds of millions of dollars, trying to take over the entire boxing market. And they suffered a pathetic defeat.

All those fighters they took from us could have had Hall of Fame careers under our guidance. And now look at them. They step into the ring once every three years. PBC has ruined their careers. Their ship is sinking. Karma takes time, but it always comes back," De La Hoya said.
