Vergil Ortiz vs Jermell Charlo? Promoter Confirms Talks with PBC

Golden Boy Promotions head Oscar De La Hoya has revealed that his team recently held talks with representatives from Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) to explore the possibility of staging major joint events — including a potential clash between Vergil Ortiz and Jermell Charlo.

“I’m excited for the future of boxing. We discussed various fights we could co-promote.

One of them was Vergil Ortiz vs Jermell Charlo,” De La Hoya said.

Jermell Charlo hasn’t fought since his loss to Canelo Alvarez in September 2023. Vergil Ortiz, meanwhile, currently holds the WBC interim super welterweight title.
