IBF heavyweight champion (up to 90.7 kg) Australian Jai Opetaia (27–0, 21 KOs) and WBA and WBO champion Hilberto Ramirez (47–1, 30 KOs) could clash in a unification bout on May 3, according to promoter Mick Francis.
This potential date has been floated before. Previously, Jai Opetaia’s manager mentioned May 3 as a target. He noted that Turki Al-Ash-Sheikh is keen to stage this fight in Saudi Arabia.
Opetaia, in his last fight, delivered a stunning knockout against David Nyika in the 4th round (confrontation stats).
Hilberto Ramirez, on the other hand, outboxed Chris Billings-Smith by decision in his previous bout, successfully unifying the titles.
