Official: Opetaia vs. Cinkara Fight Date Announced

It has been officially announced that IBF cruiserweight champion Jai Opetaia will defend his belt against 40-year-old mandatory challenger Huseyin Cinkara.

The fight is scheduled for December 6 in Gold Coast, Australia.

In his last bout, Opetaia (28-0, 22 KOs) knocked out Claudio Schiavo, while Cinkara (23-0, 19 KOs) stopped Juan Diaz earlier this year.

Previously, Opetaia had expressed interest in facing Britain’s Chris Billam-Smith and was even willing to pay step-aside money to mandatory challenger Cinkara.
