IBF cruiserweight champion, 29-year-old Australian Jai Opetaia, claims he’s ready for a showdown with two-time undisputed champion and current heavyweight titleholder Oleksandr Usyk.
“I have great respect for Usyk and would love to share the ring with him. I watched him win at the London Olympics. I've always been close to the top and waited for my opportunity.
I’d love to fight someone like Usyk. I feel I have enough style to beat him,” Opetaia said.
Usyk was the undisputed champion in the cruiserweight division before moving up to heavyweight, where he also captured all the major titles. Opetaia is scheduled to fight next on October 12 against Jack Massey.
