«Only Thinking About Victory» Taylor and Catterall on Rematch

On May 25 in Leeds, UK, a rematch in the junior welterweight category (up to 63.5 kg) between Josh Taylor (19-1, 13 KOs) and Jack Catterall (28-1, 13 KOs) will take place.

Ahead of the bout, both boxers shared their expectations for the upcoming event.

Josh Taylor: «The last fight was terrible for both of us. Jack did a lot of holding and slowed the pace. I also looked very poor. So I believe we both can perform much better…

I really don’t care how I win this fight, whether by points or by knockout. The way I’ve been performing in the gym, the punches I’ve been throwing and catching people with… If I catch him with those punches, it’s over. It will be devastating for him. But we’ll see what happens. For me, it’s just about the victory

Jack Catterall: «We’ve had delays and setbacks, but this is fight week. We’re here in Leeds. It’s exciting, and I’ve done all the hard work. We’re two days away from the fight, so it’s very real, and I’m looking forward to it.

We both know what’s ahead of us now. We’re going to fight on Saturday. The talking is over. The fight is sold. Obviously, we don’t see eye to eye. I think we’re ready to make weight and fight… Right now, I can only think about beating Josh on Saturday.»

In the first bout, which took place in February 2022, Josh Taylor won by split decision and defended his status as the undisputed junior welterweight champion.
