The current UFC bantamweight champion, Sean O'Malley (18-1), has stated his readiness to fight Floyd Mayweather.
"I think mentally, Ryan Garcia isn't in the state he needs to be. Let's see how he looks against Devin Haney, and we'll go from there. I feel like the MMA rules fight just isn't realistic. There's zero chance he would ever fight. It would take one MMA training, one day of wrestling, one day of jiu-jitsu with anyone who understands it for him to realize, 'Okay. This is a bad idea.' If anything happens, it'll be boxing. I don't even know if I want to build up to such a fight, considering where his psychology is at right now. Floyd is still fighting, still running around the boxing gym. I might just skip Ryan, skip Gervonta, and go straight for the big dog," said O'Malley. Ryan Garcia previously stated he's ready to face O'Malley under MMA rules. O'Malley responded that he could win by any means – from knockout to submission.
