Oleksandr Usyk Named 2024 Fighter of the Year by BWAA

Unified heavyweight world champion and Ready to Fight co-founder Oleksandr Usyk (23-0, 14 KOs) has been named 2024 Fighter of the Year by the Boxing Writers Association of America (BWAA).

Usyk, 38, received the award from Teofimo Lopez during the official ceremony in New York City, USA.

In 2024, Usyk defeated Tyson Fury to become the undisputed heavyweight world champion, and later beat him again in a rematch.

His longtime manager, Egis Klimas, was also honored — winning Manager of the Year.

Usyk’s next bout is scheduled for July 19 at Wembley Stadium in London, where he’ll face IBF titleholder Daniel Dubois in a rematch for the undisputed heavyweight championship.
