“Ten Fights.” Oleksandr Usyk Opens Up About Retirement Plans

Oleksandr Usyk (23-0, 14 KOs), the reigning WBA, WBC, WBO, and IBO Heavyweight Champion, shared his thoughts on retirement, how many more fights he sees in his future, and where he would like to end his career.

– Do you often think about retirement?

– Not too much. But sometimes I do.

– How many fights do you think you have left?

– Ten.

– Ten fights? Wow.

– No-no-no-no-no. That’s not true. That’s not true. I can’t say right now… because… because.

– Is there a special venue where you’d like to have your farewell fight?

– Yes. That would be Olimpiyskiy Stadium in Kyiv, Ukraine.

– Is there any specific opponent you’d still like to face?

– I have no idea at the moment.

Usyk is set to return to the ring on July 19, when he faces Daniel Dubois in a fight for the undisputed heavyweight title. The bout will take place at Wembley Stadium in London, UK.
