Officially: Okolie to Meet Rujanski

The bout for the WBC bridgerweight title (up to 224 lbs) between British boxer Lawrence Okolie (19-1, 14 KOs) and Polish fighter Lukasz Rujanski has been officially announced. The fight is set to take place on May 24th in Poland.

Okolie is set on causing significant damage: "I'm glad to be heading to Poland and once again test myself abroad. Rujanski is a solid champion, with an explosive style, but I'm coming to inflict serious damage. He's never seen power like mine before."

Rujanski stated he has been preparing for this fight all his life: "I'm defending my world title in my own backyard, in my city, fighting against a former world champion. This is a fantastic fight; for such moments, I've been training hard all my life."

This match will be the second event co-promoted by BOXXER and Knockout Promotions, following their successful collaboration in April 2023.

The last time Okolie entered the ring was against WBO cruiserweight champion Chris Billam-Smith (19-1, 13 KOs) in May of the previous year, where he lost by a split decision.

Rujanski, in April 2023, defeated Alen Babic (11-1, 10 KOs) by technical knockout.
