Queensberry Promotions has officially announced a featherweight (up to 57.2 kg) title bout between England’s WBA champion Nick Ball (21-0-1, 12 KOs) and Ireland’s TJ Doheny (26-5, 20 KOs).
Ball will defend his title in his hometown of Liverpool at the Echo Arena on March 15. The event will be broadcast on TNT Sports.
The undercard will feature the following matchups:
– Andrew Cain (13-1, 12 KOs) vs. Charlie Edwards (20-1, 7 KOs)
A clash for the BBBofC British and Commonwealth Boxing Council bantamweight titles (up to 53.5 kg).
– Brad Strand (12-1, 4 KOs) vs. Ionut Baluta (16-5-1, 3 KOs)
A battle for the vacant WBO European bantamweight title (up to 53.5 kg).
Additionally, rising stars Javier Herrera (16-0, 14 KOs) and Jack Turner (10-0, 9 KOs) will also feature on the card, with their opponents to be announced later.
In October, Nick Ball made his first successful title defense against American Ronny Rios (34-5, 17 KOs), winning via an 11th-round technical knockout.
In September, TJ Doheny faced undisputed super bantamweight (up to 55.3 kg) champion Naoya Inoue (28-0, 25 KOs), losing via a 7th-round technical knockout.
