It has been officially announced that a fight between former super lightweight (up to 63.5 kg) champion, 35-year-old American Regis Prograis (29-2, 24 KOs), and 30-year-old Briton Jack Catterall (29-1, 12 KOs) will take place on August 24 in Manchester, UK.
In his previous fight, Catterall avenged his loss by defeating Josh Taylor via judges' decision. Prograis last entered the ring in December 2023, losing to Devin Haney by decision.
Jack is currently on a three-fight winning streak (all by judges' decision). His only loss occurred in February 2022, when he lost to Josh Taylor by a split decision. The last time Catterall fought in Manchester was in 2023 against Darragh Foley.
Before his recent loss, Prograis was on a five-fight winning streak: four by stoppage and one by decision. The first and only time Regis fought in the UK, he lost to Josh Taylor by decision in the final of the World Boxing Super Series.
