Nontshinga Takes Revenge on Curiel

On February 16th in Oaxaca, Mexico, IBF minimumweight world champion (up to 48.9 kg) Adrian Curiel (24-4-1, 5 KOs) made his first title defense in a bout against Sivenathi Nontshinga (12-1, 9 KOs).

The fight ended in Nontshinga's victory by knockout in the 10th round.

Curiel captured the belt at the end of 2023 with a knockout victory over Nontshinga in their first encounter. Adrian was considered a huge underdog but knocked out Sivenathi in the 2nd round. It was Nontshinga's first loss in his career.
