Ngannou's Coach Talks About Francis' Return to the Ring

Dewey Cooper, the coach of former UFC champion Francis Ngannou (0-2), addressed whether his fighter plans to return to the sport following the tragic death of his 15-month-old son.

«When will Ngannou return? We'll see. As you know, he had a terrible, tragic situation with the death of his 18-month-old son just a month ago, so right now, we're not even thinking about fights. My heart and spirit are still with him. He is in the process of healing from the greatest tragedy that can happen to a father.

There's nothing more tragic in this world than the death of your child. You know the natural order of things. We are supposed to go before our children, so when something like this happens, I'm not sure if one can ever fully recover from something so traumatic.

He's taking it day by day. I’m not even thinking about fights or what he’s going to do. My heart is with him. I just wish him healing and finding a way to live with this. It’s bad. And it’s very sad,» said Cooper.

In late April, Francis Ngannou posted on social media that his 15-month-old son had passed away.
