Ngannou on Fighting Wilder: "We Had a Conversation"

Cameroonian heavyweight boxer and former UFC champion Francis Ngannou (0-2) shared that he would like to step into the ring against American Deontay Wilder (43-4-1, 42 KOs).

"Absolutely. I’d like that fight. Pure boxing – let’s not have any illusions. That’s where both of us have chances. But if we switch to MMA, only one of us has a chance.

This is a fight I want. I’ve always wanted this fight. At some point, we had a conversation, but it didn’t go too far. But we wanted to set up that fight.

On my wish list are a rematch with Fury and a fight with Deontay Wilder," said Ngannou.

Francis Ngannou last fought in March against British boxer Anthony Joshua (28-3, 25 KOs), losing by knockout in the 2nd round.

Deontay Wilder suffered a 5th-round technical knockout loss to Chinese heavyweight Zhang Zhilei (27-2-1, 22 KOs) in June.
