"Almost Fell Asleep." Ngannou on His Condition Before Joshua Fight

In an interview with iFL TV, Francis Ngannou (0-2, 0 KOs) commented on his defeat to Anthony Joshua (28-3, 25 KOs).

"It wasn't my day. It's not to say the outcome would have been different, but it wasn't my day. I just have to let you know, this is not the end. We are just getting started. I remember before the fight, I was so sleepy. I almost fell asleep. This has never happened to me before. I think I failed to execute the plan properly and maybe didn't feel present. I'm not blaming anyone. The blame is on me. I wasn't ready for such a result, but I understood what I was getting into. I knew something like this could happen," said Ngannou.

The fight between Anthony Joshua and Francis Ngannou took place on March 8 in Saudi Arabia. In the first round, Joshua sent his opponent to the canvas. In the second, the Brit finished the confrontation by sending his opponent to a second knockdown, then finishing him off with a single punch.
