WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman has stated that the former UFC champion, Francis Ngannou (0-1, 0 KOs), may be included in the World Boxing Council's rankings:
"What I personally witnessed in Ngannou's fight against Fury is that he is a solid boxer deserving of inclusion in the WBC rankings. I will make such recommendations to the ratings committee," Sulaiman said in a comment to Sky Sports.
The WBC champion is Tyson Fury (34-0-1, 24 KOs). The top spot in the rankings belongs to Deontay Wilder (43-2-1, 42 KOs), whom the WBC has mandated to arrange a title fight against Andy Ruiz (35-2, 22 KOs).
On the night of October 29, Fury defeated Ngannou by a split decision, with a knockdown occurring during the fight.
