According to insider Salvador Rodriguez, British middleweight contender Chris Eubank Jr. (33-3, 24 KOs) has joined the list of potential opponents for the undisputed super middleweight champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (61-2-2, 39 KOs). The former champion is now a frontrunner to secure a fight agreement with Canelo.
It was previously reported that the Mexican undisputed champion might return to the ring on September 14, with WBA mandatory challenger Edgar Berlanga (22-0, 17 KOs) and Jermall Charlo (33-0, 22 KOs) being the most likely opponents.
Canelo last fought in May against his compatriot Jaime Munguia (43-1, 34 KOs) and won by unanimous decision. In September last year, Chris Eubank Jr. redeemed himself for a previous loss by defeating Liam Smith (33-4-1, 20 KOs) via technical knockout in their rematch.
