Nelson on Fury: "He's Definitely Furious"

In an interview with Box Nation, former world champion Johnny Nelson commented on what WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury (34-0-1, 24 KOs) might have been thinking during Anthony Joshua's (28-3, 25 KOs) demolition of Francis Ngannou (0-2, 0 KOs).

"He's definitely furious because he's like, 'I don't want to be on the receiving end of that.'"

"Fury said, 'I had a great training camp [preparing for Ngannou].' If he wanted us to believe that, I'd be very disappointed because what now? Look what happened after his 'great training camp,' and then look what Joshua did.

So, he has to say, 'I didn't have a great training camp.' The public thinks, 'What should we believe now?'."

Do you agree with Hearn's words that Joshua is the best fighter in the world? After such a performance, of course, he looks splendid. But he was against a novice. What was supposed to happen happened. Francis Ngannou had knockout power in his sport, but he's a novice stepping into the ring with a world-class fighter. I'm a boxing snob," said Nelson.

Remember, on March 8th in Saudi Arabia, Anthony Joshua faced Francis Ngannou. Joshua sent his opponent to the canvas in the first round. In the second, the Briton finished the confrontation by sending his opponent to the canvas for the second time, then finishing him off with a single blow.

This is Joshua's fourth win in the last 11 months and his third consecutive early victory. Last October, Tyson Fury also fought against Francis Ngannou in his boxing debut. The Brit won by decision but was knocked down.
