Navarrete Unhappy with Performance, Congratulates Berinchyk

Mexican boxer Emanuel Navarrete (38-2-1, 31 KOs) thanked the new WBO lightweight champion (up to 61.2 kg) Denys Berinchyk (19-0, 9 KOs) and shared his thoughts on the fight, acknowledging that his opponent performed excellently.

"I want to thank everyone who came to the fight. I feel at home. They really accepted me as one of their own.

As for the fight, I want to congratulate Denys on a great performance. I moved up to this division, which is new for me, and I knew it would be tough, and it truly was. Denys moved a lot.

Am I satisfied with the result? Absolutely not. But I see this as an opportunity to learn. I understand that there are things I need to improve on, and that’s exactly what I plan to do," said Navarrete.

Denys won by split decision – 115:113, 116:112, 112:116.
