Nakatani, Tsutsumi, and Moloney to Participate in Tournament in Japan

A boxing tournament has been announced for February 24 at Ariake Arena in Tokyo, Japan.

The main event of the evening will be a clash between local boxer, WBC bantamweight champion (up to 53.5 kg) Junto Nakatani (29-0, 22 KOs), and Mexican fighter David Cuellar (28-0, 18 KOs).

In October, Nakatani defended his title against Tasana Salapat by TKO in round six. Cuellar has not fought since May, when he defeated Jose Velasquez by unanimous decision.

Also on the Tokyo card, reigning WBA bantamweight champion Seiya Tsutsumi (12-0-2, 8 KOs) will face fellow countryman Daigo Higa (21-3-1, 19 KOs), while local fighter Tenshin Nasukawa (5-0, 2 KOs) takes on the former bantamweight champion from Australia—Jason Moloney (27-3, 19 KOs).

In October, Tsutsumi defeated Takuma Inoue, while Higa lost to WBO champion Yoshiki Takei, who in May took the title away from Moloney.
